Getting started

If you're here, then you know the good word: I'm moving to Hawaii!! I thought this would be an easy way for me to commuicate with everyone who wants to know what's going on in my life. And, from what I gather, I'll be able to post some sweet pictures.

So, to fill everyone in, I have accepted a job with Pioneer in Waimea on the island of Kauai. It's a pretty small island and a small town too, so I'm pretty pumped to return to small town life. Nervous too, though. They'll fly me out there (I still don't know when my plane leaves--I just accepted on Friday) and set me up with free housing and a car for the first month. After that, I'm on my own. I start on October 2nd, so I have about a month left in Iowa.

It's strange to think that I'll be living in Hawaii. When I took the job in Johnston with Pioneer I knew there was always the possiblity of travel, but I didn't think I would be with the company long enough to take advantage of that possibility. My life is an open book at this point--I don't know what the next chapter is going to be or where the plot will lead. Hawaii is a welcomed and unforseen change. Now what to pack...

I'll miss you so much, but I am excited for you. I know you'll make the most of this opportunity for not only the work experience, but for all the new things to see and do. Enjoy, explore and immerse yourself in the culture.
