Working and hunting

My computer will be out for another week so I won't be posting any pictures until then. I'm having to post at work since Grandma's connection is so slow...

Thanksgiving went well--we ate at Grandma's and besides my family and Rick my aunt and her family came as well as Chad (Allyson's boyfriend) and my grandma's friends Karen and John. It was a day full of food and board games. The weekend brought a little shopping (Rick now has work boots and a winter jacket) and house hunting. I decided I liked living in a house better than an apartment and had my heart set on something rural where I could keep Maggie. The first few places we looked at were not promising.

Monday night we looked at a place outside of Granger (15 minutes from Johnston, 25 from Ames) and I loved it. The landlords said they were really picky about who lived there since it has been in the family and they hope to pass it down to their kids. Really cute recently remodeled farmhouse with only a few hang ups. I loved it, though. I called the people last night to ask a few more questions (and probably say we'd take it), but they never called back. I'm hoping they were busy and not avoiding us. I really like that house....

Last night was Christmas with Wartburg, a musical production put on by the band and choral groups of my alma matter. Kim, Braden, Theresa and I introduced Rick to the world of Wartburg music and I'd have to say it was pretty much standard, what you expect. Certain groups stood out (good or bad) just as you would expect them to. It was a little crazy since all of the main music groups were performing and not just the usual 1 band and 2 choirs. Good concert, though.

Other than that, just working at Pioneer doing mindless tasks (and loving it) and hunting for a place to live. I really want to get settled so I can unpack and get a Christmas tree!!!!
