Week 1

First week of school--always hard to get back into the swing of things. But I think this semester will be ok. And there's talk of a great publication on the horizon--more on that as it develops. And this past week it was very cold-- the high on Thursday was somewhere in the neighborhood of -10 degrees F. Wind chill was more like -35. Most schools were closed most of the week. At those temperatures, you can get frostbite in half an hour. It was a balmy 30 yesterday--almost a tropical heat wave. For some reason, anything above 0 seems to be nice.

Friday evening I went home and hung out with my parents, bought new snow boots, played Wii with Dad, pretty standard. Saturday we went bridesmaid dress shopping for Allyson's wedding and we found a dress that was much like the travelling pants--even though it wouldn't zip up on all of us, it looked good on all of us. And, I would like to mention, it was a dress that I picked. And who said I had no sense of style? To be fair, I didn't pick it because of my sense of taste but rather it was a lot like the other dresses we were trying on. Anyway, we have dresses, so things are really progressing.

When I was home, I took pictures of my parents' new addition. Check it out:
Their new downstairs bedroom
The giant walk-in closet
Mom's new bathtub
And the walk-in shower--Dad made the vanity
The new wrap-around porch--still needs paint.
