Since my last post, not a lot has changed. I still go to work every day, though there's not a lot to do. I have tied up all my data files and cleaned up my lab space, now I'm just waiting. Though they said they would have assignments for all of us by the end of the week, I don't think anyone was
surprised when rumors said that we would have decisions sometime next week. Rumor has is that our director is flying back from
Delaware next Tuesday and has to leave on Wednesday, so we should have decisions then. We are supposed to get 3 or 4 choices of jobs and have some time to think those choices through, talk with the new departments, and decide for ourselves. And there have been some directors asking about my interests, so apparently people are shopping for me just as I'm shopping for them. Time will tell.
The rest of this week has been pretty tame. Running errands and cleaning, playing volleyball, going out with friends. But the snow has been melting and that's been really nice, and has shown us new things about our new place. For instance, we didn't know we had a sidewalk in front of our place until Monday--oops, we haven't been shoveling that all winter! I wasn't sure if there was one yet since there's not a full neighborhood in, but apparently they put it in piece by piece.
Another nice change was seeing our entire deck--the iceberg is gone!

And the house next door has jumped by leaps and bounds in the past week. They're working on it right now. Here's what it looked like a few days ago:

Two days before it was just a cemented hole in the ground--it's really moving. We literally went to work one morning and we came back and the framing for the walls were all up! For this picture, I'm standing on my front step--this house is quite a ways from ours but still too close to squeeze another one in between. They must have a huge lawn, though I hope some of that lawn is ours.
