Where has August gone?

Like many busy times, this month has slipped away. We've been very busy and now there's down time to reflect on the past month.

The month kicked off with the wedding of one of my very best friends, Jane, who lives in Japan (see posts from May/June of 2007 to see our trip to visit her). Because I have known her for so long and so well and because guests were literally coming from around the globe, it was an entire weekend event, but it was a weekend spent with best friends and many new friends as well. Here's a few photos from the weekend (I forgot my camera at home and had to have Rick bring it to me on the wedding day!):

Wyatt, Jane, and I--the three musketeers together again!

Congratulations to Jane and Motoaki!
The rest of the month has flown by with an Ankeny area outfly, playing some sand volleyball with a new team, a visit from Rick's dad and a friend from KC, work, riding, and the Iowa State Fair. We have made a few changes to the house that I will hopefully update soon, and we are gearing up for a vacation to South Dakota and Yellowstone in a few weeks. We're excited for the time off and to see some new sights!
