Time keeps flying. Our little nugget is now 5 and a half months old and such a big girl! Little Miss now has a tooth and is working on the second one, is eating solids, can sit up, is attempting to move while on her belly (let's not call it crawling just yet) and has moved up into size 3 diapers. What a big girl!
The tooth was a little traumatic. It came in last week and every evening was very difficult for a while. She was her happy, normal self during the day but at bedtime she was very fussy. Once the tooth finally cut through she was a little more manageable, but she has been clingy/needy lately so bedtime was still a fight. A few nights ago I figured out how to lay her down without waking her up (apparently the method changed) so sanity has been regained in our household and Rick and I have regained our evenings. Hooray!
Natalie is also eating "real" food now. We had been doing rice cereal for a while, but introduced her first veggie last weekend. Rick voted for peas even though I don't like them and Natalie's face was priceless the first time. She was so excited and then when she tasted them she made a terrible face, pouted, and cried. She was a trooper and tried a few more bites but was disappointed that they didn't taste any better. We refrigerated the leftovers and day 2 she loved them. Go figure. Maybe cold peas are better than warm ones? Anyway, the peas are going well and maybe we'll break open the sweet potatoes this weekend.
Last weekend we went to one of my college friend's wedding; it was beautiful and so good to see her and other friends. We decided to take Natalie with us but were a little nervous because of how much trouble she had been having with her teeth. She could not have behaved better--she was a perfect little girl. We had such a great time and we were so happy that our outing with her went so well. She fooled everyone that she was a perfect baby.
Yesterday was a great day at work--first good day out in the field. The rain has kept us out of the fields and I've been itching to get out to walk the corn. I was so excited I literally "Woo-hoo"-ed. It's a nice time of year but soon I'll be very busy. I'd better enjoy this time now while I still can. Now if only the weather would warm up.
