It's been a great 2 weeks of not worrying about classes and homework but sadly, that freedom ends tomorrow. Strangely, I'm excited for them to begin--I miss the variety of learning and seeing different yet familiar faces.
These past few weeks have been spent at the Iowa State Fair and watching copious amounts of the Olympics. Whenever I wasn't home to watch them, I was recording them, so the Olympics won't end for me tonight--I still haven't watched the opening ceremonies yet! I don't know why they amaze me so much or why I felt like Shawn Johnson was my neighbor (I cried when she won each of her medals) but I am absolutely captivated by them. Rick and I are talking about going to the winter Olympics in 2010 in Vancouver.
The State Fair was amazing as always, but I think the fair is more amazing when you work there. Then you can really appreciate all it has to offer. Rick had a great time and saw one of his favorite Texas bands on a free stage. We went 3 days and ate a lot of fried food and food on a stick, but that's what the fair is all about, right?
I love this time of year--warm during the day (but not too hot) and crisp and cool at night. I can't wait for the fall. And football starts this week--I can't wait!!!
