Ames living

I have neglected the blog and so much has happened since I last written. That being said, I feel the only way to feasibly catch up is to bullet. But Blogger hates me today, so bullets are not showing up. Tiny paragraphs, then:

Easter weekend we headed to Northwood. Dad surprised us with a Wii when we got home and I played way too much. I was sore by the end of the weekend. Grandpa couldn't get enough of it. Too much fun.

We finished cleaning out T & L's house. Rick and I had a creepy experience as we were followed from the house 10 miles to the dump. It would be one thing if it was a straight shot, but the car stopped at the gas station as I filled up and followed us when I took the wrong turn. It was really creepy. We saw their car pass the house at least twice more after that. On our second trip to the dump, a different truck just pulled up next to ours and started taking things out.

Grandpa and Helen came up for Easter, freshly back from their trip south in the Winnebago.

Lots of good family bonding. And Wii playing.

Back to school for a week--trying to figure out my Program of Study (POS) for the next (+/-) 2 years.

Moved last weekend. Took 3 trips in the Jeep on Friday and a trailer full on Saturday. There was quite the crew on Sat: Mom & Dad, Allyson & Chad, Kim & Braden all helped. The crew arrived at the old house at 9, we were loaded by 10, and after fixing the truck and a 30 mile drive, we were completely unloaded by 11:30. Hickory Park for everyone!

Kim and Braden stuck around until late evening, helping unpack and drinking beer. Tried out the pub nearby. Theresa joined us for games later in the evening.

Sunday, unpacking.

Rode the bus every day except Monday. Got a parking ticket that day because I moved my pass out of the car during the move. Love riding the bus. I walk 5 minutes to the stop and get dropped off right in front of my building. I ride from the first stop to the last stop (about 20 minutes) so I don't even have to pay attention. The best part? My bus runs every 10 minutes. Can't beat it.

Week over. It seemed like the longest week ever.

Hung out with baby Taylor and Mike and Jess both Thursday and Friday nights. Friday included a jam session.

Today was running around town, though this is the first weekend since I can remember when I didn't have to be somewhere (though I should be studying).

Weather was beautiful today--went for a walk among other things.

Blogging is keeping me from studying.

VEISHEA is this week and my favorite band ever, Blessid Union of Souls, is playing Saturday night. Yes!

That's about all I know. The new place is great. Love having the internet at home (welcome to 2008). Not everything has found a place yet, but we're slowly chipping away at it. The apartment is really nice but (obviously) smaller than the other house, so finding places for everything has been a challenge. Luckily we have pretty large garages for the random cooler or camping gear or the washer and dryer our old landlord didn't want to buy. But the rooms are large (we have a bed and desk in each bedroom) and aside from the upstairs neighbor who must wear cement shoes the new place is great. Love it. I have Rick convinced that it snows year-round. Thursday helped me to prove my point. What's up with snow in April? At least heat is paid in the apartment...

Finally, the update I've been waiting for! Can't wait to see the new place...considering I didn't see the last new place it should be pretty thrilling! I'll keep you posted as to when we're in the great state of Iowa again...

Glad for the update as always! ~Scarlett
