VEISHEA (or) bust

I was so excited for VEISHEA it may not have been healthy. Allyson and I bought the wristbands to go to the Blessid Union of Souls concert and I was ready for a weekend of good times. And then it was cold. And rainy. And snow. Boo. Yesterday I went to the parade for a little bit (but it was snowing and cold)--watched some from the warmth of the lab. Checked out central campus and it was pretty dead. There were a lot of signs directing traffic into buildings and such. It's just a shame that the weather put a cramp on the whole thing. I was planning on spending all day on campus but spent probably an hour, and that included my lab work. Last night Rick and I went out with some 'Burgers in Des Moines and came home in time for the BUOS concert--they didn't play until 2 AM. Called Allyson and told her that the snow was coming down pretty well. Outdoor concert at 2 AM in the snow--we decided we'd skip it. We'd seen them before and didn't want to catch pneumonia. I feel like I could have tried harder to have a good VEISHEA, but it was just ridiculous. It's mid April--when will spring finally arrive for good?
