Enjoying Fall

I have made a conscious effort to take more pictures lately, so thought I would share some. Not much new narration to share--school, lab work, football, repeat. I did find out that I won't be going to Hawaii after all; they can't fly me out before the first of the year due to budget cuts but also want me to be working there for two full weeks and those stipulations would require me to miss the first week of class. As nice as it would be to go to Hawaii and make some money, I'm not going to miss class for it. It just won't work out. Poor Rick had to cancel his ticket. Oh well--we'll make it back sometime...
ISU's homecoming game was against Rick's college team, Texas A&M, so it was rival time. You can't really see our opposing team colors. But we enjoyed the homecoming festivities including the Greek Yell Like Hell competition and the yard displays, which are essentially skits to show school spirit but these things were amazing! The sets for the skits took up the whole yard and there was lighting and sound and smoke and the sets moved--I was impressed. Themes included the Wizard of Oz, Willy Wonka, Peter Pan, Candy Land, and Toy Story (?)--a similar plot where the Aggies were the Wicked Witch of the West or Pirates and ISU was the protagonist. Even Rick had a good time. Too bad ISU went and lost the game (again). My friend Jane is now back from Japan and joined us at the game--I'm glad I will be seeing more and more of her!
Allyson, Chad, Rick and I went to Jester Park for a horse-drawn wagon ride to enjoy the fall colors. On the way home we picked up pumpkins at a patch in the country--more on their fate later.

Congratulations to Scarlett (my college roommate) and her husband Brian--they're expecting their first child!!! So exciting!!
