I can't believe that my week off is almost over. Sad. I was going to update on Tuesday but my power cord died and I didn't have time to get a new one until today. It's sad how much my life depends on my laptop...
By week off, I mean week off from classes. Finals were last week--I only had one, on Friday--and I ended up with an A in my immunology class! Yay! This week I still have been in the lab, working (I finished my manuscript complete with figures!) but the break from classes is nice. That means I get my evenings free, which is great because I am planning my sister's bachelorette party and Kim's baby shower, both occurring in June. Finally some time to get the details worked out.
Last weekend my parents came down for the Professional Bull Riders event in Des Moines--it was a good show. It's fun to see a good ride on a good bull, but the wrecks are fun to watch as long as they get up in the end. There were 4 injuries at the show, and only one that was really bad. Saturday I also bought a wedding dress!!!! It's perfect for the beach! Mom and Allyson loved it too! One more thing to cross off the list...
My great uncle Connie passed away this past week. He lived a happy and full 85 years and he will be missed.
As one chapter closes, another opens. My college roommate Scarlett is being induced into labor this evening--I wish her, Brian, and the baby all the best in the next few days. To follow their story as it unfolds, check out their new blog!
We will head back up to Northwood this weekend for another shower for Allyson--should be fun!
