As eluded to in my last post, Rick and his dad painted the nursery and put together the dresser and crib while I was away at my sister's shower. It's not complete yet, but if the baby showed up today, we'd be almost ready. Stroller and car seat should arrive this week!
First, a belly shot
An up-close shot of the dresser (which will double as a changer). It's relatively small, but we figure when we go to get a bigger one some day, this piece doesn't look too much like a dresser and could easily be placed in the living room or family room in the basement.
An action shot
The color of the room is pesto which looks great in the room, but I found ti photographs differently depending on the time of day and the lighting. Click on the link if you want to see how Behr defines the color.I think the color goes great with the nursery set we had picked out. I think until the baby gets older I'll hang the quilt on the wall for decoration. I still have to figure out what to put on the walls. Baby steps.
The curtains that I had hanging in the guest room seem to go fairly well in the baby's room so I think we'll stick with them for now. Stuffed animals are on the ledge for now; the Disney collection from Rick's parents is growing every time we see them. Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, and now Goofy just waiting.
The dresser is almost full of clothes (newborn-3 month sizes), almost all of which were purchased at garage sales. Washed and ready to be worn.View from the closet. Still missing a rocker, hamper, diaper genie, and some wall decor, but we're getting there! We only have one more week of prenatal classes and only 7 weeks to go!
