Not much new

I feel like I should post something new and exciting, but there's not much new and exciting in my life. I'm working on a manuscript that we're hoping to publish in Nature Medicine--big deal--and I'm finding writing a scientific paper quite the daunting task. Classes are going well I suppose, though I have my first test this Wednesday and it's been a while since I've spent the weekend studying (turns out I didn't miss it). Been keeping busy as well--saw Ron White last weekend and went to the Grand Piano Bistro where our friends Mike and Andy were the dueling piano players. Had friends over for the Superbowl but wasn't overly impressed with the commercials (though I did like the Potato Heads), but had fun anyway.

Also went to the #21 ISU vs. #10 Texas A&M womens' basketball game this past week and the Cyclones brought their A game. I was really great to watch. The women are now #3 in the Big 12 but the national poll hasn't been updated yet this week. Regardless, it's nice to be able to get excited about a team for a change... Also saw Cy do his evolution of dance and loved it--that's why he's the national champ.

Sorry I'm not much more exciting. Maybe next post will be more exciting (though I wouldn't hold my breath). Hope everyone else is loving the beautiful weather!
