It's been very nice. Work has been going well--I actually like deadlines and some goal to work toward, so getting plantings ready is kind of fun. In my new job I'll be planting something ridiculous like 11 months a year, so maybe I'll just always love this push to be done. But the job is going well and I feel pretty comfortable already.
I've been cooking a lot since I did the lasagna cordon bleu. And for me, cooking anything is a lot. Since the last post I've made steak de burgo, chicken casserole, BBQ meatloaf, pizza, and ice cream. I'm actually having a lot of fun doing the cooking since I have the time to do it. I've modified a few and it's interesting how I can make it work even if I deviate (sometimes widely) from the recipe. We'll see what else Rick and I decide sound good and see how successfully I tackle it.
Maggie's been doing well. Since the first ride, there were two bad days and everything since then has been great. The bad days I think she was being lazy and I was a little nervous to push her thinking she might decide to dump me. The third day she was being cranky I called her bluff and everything's been great since then. We've migrated out of the arenas and on to the lane, through the puddles, and are looking for some trails. We definitely have issues to work through, but it's going really well and I'm really happy with her. The people at the stable have been encouraging and commenting that she's doing well. Working with her has been rewarding.
And there hasn't been much else. Just relaxing in the evenings, cleaning, watching too much tv and too much on Netflix, reading a new book. It's nice. And the weather has been getting better--so beautiful! Hope you are enjoying the beautiful spring weather!
