Growing girl!

Starting this post off with a few older photos, but I think they're pretty cute and I just figured out how to get them off of my phone.  A college student flatly told me that I could just email them to myself.  Of course I can, why didn't I think of that?  Over Easter my uncle got a smart phone and the salesman told him to go ask any teenager on the street how to use it.  Sad but true, no?

I think I had neglected to mention that a few weeks ago Natalie had her first school pictures.  Yep, you read that right.  At 3 months old the daycare brought in a photographer and she had her first school pictures.  I had a heck of a time trying to decide what to send her to daycare in that day.  Her cutest photo-quality outfits were not really practical to send her to play in all day (like her Easter dress) and the weather was still a little cold so I wasn't sure if I could send her in a dress without tights.  In the end, we decided on the green dress above without tights and, magically, she made it to picture time without having to be changed into her back-up photo outfit.  The pictures turned out fine; she didn't smile in any of them but they were still cute enough that we ordered some.  My sister had taken some professional-looking photos of my niece about that time and I convinced myself that I could also do that, but have yet to produce said photos.  Whenever I'm motivated to try Natalie is fussy.  Maybe this weekend I'll give it another try.

Natalie's been growing a lot lately.  It seems that I'm retiring a lot of clothes; this morning I put her in a sleeper that she had no chance of straightening her legs in.  Aside from eating more and growing out of her clothes, twice this week she had sleep marathons.  We usually put her down to play while we eat supper, and the other day we noticed she was really quiet while we were eating.  Turns out the little stinker had fallen asleep on her play mat and slept for 12 hours.  She did wake up in the middle of the night that night, but I couldn't believe she slept that long.  The next day at daycare she was extra-hungry; no wonder, she can't eat while she's sleeping!  Two days later she did the same thing.

While you might say, wow, that's great that she's sleeping so much!  You must get so much done!  But it's kind of sad.  As working parents, we have an hour or so between when I wake her up until I drop her off at daycare and then a few hours at night between work and bedtime.  When she goes to bed at 5:30, we get little to no time with her in her waking hours.  It was a little bit of a bummer and I will admit that at least one of those evenings I held her just for some snuggle time.  She's napping now, but at least it's the weekend and there's plenty of hours to play.
Speaking of playing, she's been trying out her giant jumper and liking it so far, but she's still a little small for it.  The rolling rattle seems to entertain her, but she can't really swivel that well just yet so she can only focus on one toy at a time.  I can't believe she's getting so big!

The weather keeps toying with us; one day it's 70 degrees and we're taking walks in her stroller and the next it's 40.  We bought some sweet shades today to help with the bright sun--hopefully we'll have some pictures of us enjoying the outdoors soon!
