Exhausted

There's really no other word for it. The fair was great, but I think I put in about 120 hours in 11 days and worked 15 hours at the lab in the past week too... Getting 7 hours of sleep should be sufficient but when all of the waking hours are spent working, it's not enough.

I'll share some details of the fair later, but for now, I'll just share my story from today. I'm exhausted, went to the first day of classes and got home around 5. I thought I smelled smoke when I came in, checked the candles, and chalked it up to the dryer running a little hot. Around 5:35 I headed out to the deck since the water on the window confused me. Found the source of the fire smell.... my new neighbors burned a hole in the deck above my apartment! They were on it and had it almost out by the time I knew what was going on. With a little teamwork we shot water up with the garden hose that is supposedly watering our trees. I think we got it taken care of, but we both called the property manager just in case though they were closed. I'm a little surprised our sprinkler didn't go off (there is one directly above our patio door). Anyway, we got it under control, but let's just say that renter's insurance that we never got around to getting is now being processed...

I need sleep. I'll share my best fair stories soon!
