Yes, that's right, the Iowa State Fair starts tomorrow! My sister works for the Blue Ribbon Foundation and for the next 11 days I work for my sister. Should be fun, but also really busy! Luckily I don't have much going on in the lab (I'm writing my thesis--doesn't require any special lab equipment) and my boss appreciates the flexibility of being a grad student, so I'm going to be Allyson's slave and tired by the time classes start on the 24th!
Therefore, posts will be scarce, I will be busy, and the days will be long. Good news--I have officially set my thesis defense date (November 10th--only 3 months to go!) and I need to have my thesis done before I head to a conference in mid October (only 2 months away!) so the next 2-3 months will be crazy! I'm going to be so smart by the end of that time, well, knowledgeable about my thesis topic, anyway! If only that pesky thesis would write itself... Right now it sits at a very rough 56 pages and I still have a lot of reading to do before it gets to the editing stage. Chapter 4 is currently empty and 3 needs a lot of beefing up.
Who knew writing a thesis would be so hard?
