As I sit here thinking of the past week, reminiscing on all of the great times, it is also so very sad that it is over. Such is the post-holiday blues.
Last week at this time, we were winding up a visit with Rick's parents. Friday morning we headed to Northwood and spent a few days with my parents. Rick spent some time deer hunting (or, perhaps more appropriately, went walking with guns) with my dad and I spent a lot of time with my mom in the kitchen making far too much food!

Christmas Eve is my favorite day of the year and is spent with my mom's side of the family. It's so good to get together. Christmas Day was spent at my parent's house and I didn't get out of my pajamas all day. It was great. Too much great food and lots of family time and games (that I didn't win). We also headed into town and met up with some high school friends. It was a great few days at home and a nice break.

We headed back home on the 26th and I met up with my two best friends Jane and Wyatt. Wyatt is currently living in Chicago (soon moving to Wichita) and Jane is back from Japan for Christmas. Everyone was on the run from one place or another, but it was nice to get together for the short time that we could.

The 27th is my birthday so I took the day off, and I spent most of the day acquiring things. I would call it shopping, but I didn't spend much money, so I'm not sure how to classify it. I had some things to return, and also had some store credits that I hadn't used (got a pair of boots using a credit from 2010). Made myself a birthday cake--black forest--and had supper with Rick and my sister and brother-in-law. It was a great day!
A two-day work week this week and attempting to put the house back together and play with my new toys in our 4-day weekend. Love the holidays!
