Blame Japan

Just thought I would let everyone know that after the big earthquake in Japan (I think it was near an 8 on the scale) that I am fine, and for those of you who know Jane, she is fine too. Talked to her last night. That earthquake happened around 1 AM here and I heard about the tsunami warning being cancelled on my way to work the next morning. There was a very small tsunami here--the Garden Island covered it, but unfortuantley their archives leave out the pictures. Just a 2 1/2 foot swelling at the big harbor.

Rumor around the office is that another earthquake hit Japan about 45 minutes ago. 5.9 I think they said. So we're assuming that we'll be back on tsunami watch again soon. I don't think that I'll ever get used to worrying about what's happening thousands of miles away. I'm so used to living in a bubble and this island only intensifies that feeling...

In other news, I got invited to a family Thanksgiving next week. I'm really happy and excited. Holidays are to be spent with family and these guys are great. More on that later, I should probably get back to work. Or head to higher ground.

Glad to hear you are okay. Man, you've only been out there a couple months and you've already experienced earthquakes and tsunamis....what's next? Man oh man, what an experience! Love reading all about it! Have a great day!
