Allyson's Spring Break
Sorry I've been incommunicado, but Mom and Allyson arrived last Saturday evening and I've been pretty busy playing tour guide. It was awesome and I'm sad they're gone. Anyway, I'll try and recap the week.
Sunday morning we got up bright and early (thanks to the chickens) and headed up to Koke'e. Allyson loved scrambling on the spongy, red dirt...
We decided to go hiking on a trail I hadn't done before that leads to the top of a 800 foot waterfall. The hike wasn't so bad--look at Mom, the trooper!
It was surreal--there was no border of any sort keeping us from the canyon. Mom was not excited about the height...

Look at how nervous she is near the edge!!

Looks like you all had a fun time. It looks funny to see your mom on trails and on the beach. So out of her element. But more power to her!!! Yeah, Joan!! Glad you had a good week, and the family got to come experience the beauty of the tropics! Take care. C.
