Ready?

I just realized today that I had not updated the blog in many days, but I have been trying to be productive. As of yet, we do not have Internet at our house (and may not get it since we don't really have any options) and I'm trying to look busy/smart when I'm at the lab at ISU. I don't think I'm fooling them very well, though.

I have been sick for the past week or so--not deathly ill, but the kind of sick that keeps you going to work but feeling miserable all day. I'm feeling a lot better today--I'm on meds that came from behind the counter and required a signature and license scan. It better work.

The house is seemingly farther from ISU day by day, but all is well. I don't mind the drive, but I do mind the gas expenditure. I also seem to be having quite the time finding someone to carpool with...

Still not sure exactly what's going on in the lab for me though I did have my first lab meeting yesterday and I feel smarter already. Classes shouldn't be too bad this semester--I think (and hope) that will make my transition back into Academia a little smoother. I guess we'll find out Monday morning when I hit up Molecular Genetics..

I leave you now, my devoted readers, with photos of my farewell party at Salt Pond. Dad grilled 17 pounds of rib eye and we had a good time on the beach. It's days like these I miss the island...
