Saturday night Rick and I headed to a carnival put on by the Catholic school in Kekaha--music and food and things to buy. Sunday I did a whole lot of nothing, and it was great. And now, another week of work...

And the winner is...
I know the suspense is killing you. You're chomping at the bit to see how well I really golfed. Well, no surprise to anyone, my team didn't do so well (even though it was a best ball tournament). In fact, we got last. Golfed a 90 on a par 72. Were 5 strokes behind any other team. Pretty sad when you take in the fact that they helped us cheat and there were rules that only let us go 2 over par on every hole so the maximum score would have been 108.
Anyway, the other Pioneer team comprised of Sandy, Vangie, Lanie, and Connie got second place with a 71--only 2 strokes off the leaders. And they're not really golfers. It was good to see locals do well--most of the golfers were little old wrinkly white ladies that are transplants from the Mainland.
There was also quite a raffle and if I had won one thing at that raffle it would have been worth my investment. There were tours and day spas and all sorts of touristy things, but none of us from Pioneer won anything. There were door prizes for everyone and I got some nice Hawaiian place mats and a tea light holder. There was also a silent auction of some local art and I won the painting above for $50. Wasn't really looking to buy it--I figured someone would outbid me, but I like it. My first piece of real art.

Wow, sounds like things are always busy and exciting for you. Enjoyed the last few posts, I love reading about your adventures....I'm glad you survived the sailing mess...that sounds scary and if I were there, I gaurantee I would have been eaten by that shark you saw...
