Thursday I drove about 10 miles on a flat tire, thinking I needed to get my alignment looked at. And $100 later I have one new tire (and 3 new-ish tires). There's an expense I was not looking for. More work (with huge drama from my employees), some shopping, and I got a free upgrade to a $400 phone--it's pretty sweet. Apparently I can put it in a bucket of water for half an hour and pull it out and it will still work. I'm still playing with it, trying to figure it all out.
In other news, I have applied to Iowa State University's Interdepartmental Genetics masters program for the spring semester. All of my materials are in, now I'm just waiting. I wasn't going to tell many people until I knew if I was accepted or not, but I'm too excited. The plan is to come home for Christmas and not come back to Hawaii. I don't regret a minute out here, but it's just not the place for me. Great place to visit, but not a great place to live. I hope everything works out. I'll keep you posted!
